Large decorative box, inspired by French 18th century
- Fully handmade
- Marie Antoinette style
- Luxury fabrics from French historical Maisons
This large decorative box is a tribute to the 18th century and Marie Antoinette. The design will immediately transport you to a Versailles boudoir.
It is fully handmade by Lilly: she is one of the last craftperson making storage boxes in France. Delicacy and multiple know-hows are necessary to create such refined pieces. This is an exceptional work!
This large decorative box is covered with Toile de Jouy fabric. The different perspectives reveal subtle details and symbols from the 18th century. Toile de Jouy is an historical French luxury fabric: the original manufacture opened in 1760 in Jouy en Josas (a tiny village very close to Versailles). Centuries later, Toile de Jouy timeless designs remain French icons.
On the inside, the box is covered with a water-green suede from Pierre Frey, a French luxury Maison founded in 1935. They honour French traditions and luxury style, taking inspiration in a collection dating from the sixteenth century to the present.
This luxurious box comes with an aqua luxury dust bag, that you can close with a grey lace.
All that remains is to choose where you will display it: it can be an elegant decor in your room or else used in your closet for your accessories (belts, scarves…) or your lingerie.
Height: 9.4 inches - 24 cm ; Diameter: 13.8 inches - 35 cm.
These products are handmade, making them unique, then they may slightly vary in size.
Weight: 2.9 lb - 1.3 kg
Material: The cardboard box is covered with cotton on the outside and suede inside. The dust bag is in cotton.
Care instructions: In case of a stain on the box, you can clean it with a soft cloth with water and natural soap. The dust bag can be handwashed or machine washed at low temperatures (tap cold or cold) and must be dried naturally (no tumble dry).
Lilly practices the art of “Cartonnière”. This French traditional profession masters the realisation of handmade luxury boxes in paper and fabrics. There are only a few Cartonnières remaining in France today.
Passionate about the French Art de vivre and a centuries-old heritage, she pursues the tradition of handmade luxury boxes. Her design is a tribute to the 18th century: elegance, refined details and magnificence. You will be immediately transported to a Versailles boudoir, from the times of Marie Antoinette.
Would you guess how many days Lilly needs to create this hat box? For one hat box, at least 2 full days are necessary. It requires a great mastery in several techniques, and also patience! Cutting, couture, sticking, drying… The luxury hat box will be finally ready to join your home.
