Introducing Mathilde, Parisian and French Address founder

Bonjour, I’m Mathilde, founder of French Address.
I’d love to share the story behind my boutique and what continues to inspire it today.

When I was a child, every summer meant discovering a new French region with my family.
We wandered through markets, visited local artisans, and brought home a small souvenir: a copper bell from Normandy, a honey candle from Provence, a Kouglof mold from Alsace, or espadrilles from the Basque Country...

I carefully kept these little treasures in a wooden glass box I called my French box.
It followed me everywhere, even when I lived abroad, a collection that reminded me of France beauty, craftsmanship, and soul. 

That box became the heart of French Address. I created this online boutique in March 2021 to share authentic, meaningful, and beautifully made French creations. For several years, I was proud to send them mainly to the United States, a country I know well and hold close to my heart.

But since September 2025, new export regulations have made international shipping too complex and costly for a small business like mine to sustain. Today, French Address focuses on gift delivery in France, helping you send thoughtful gifts to your loved ones living here. 

And even though I no longer ship to the U.S., I continue my newsletter, Parisian Notes by Mathilde, which I’ve written for years with great joy. Every two weeks, I share my favorite Paris addresses, travel tips, whether you’re planning a trip or simply missing Paris.
