The iconic French bowl with positive message

  • The iconic Breton bowl made in Pornic

This bowl is an essential of French kitchens. Created in the 18th century in Britanny, it has been particularly popular since the 1930’s. Every French family going to Brittany (Saint Malo, Quimper...) for vacations comes back with one or several bowls as a souvenir

The Breton bowl has been modernized so you can have a traditional French bowl with a modern touch. It is made in earthenware, it is fully white with an elegant royal blue edge and is calligraphed with the French words: 'la Merveille' (the Wonder - feminine). If you offer this French bowl as a gift, your friend or loved one will know how much you admire her!

This bowl is for an everyday use: it's dishwasher safe and it can go to the microwave. It's perfect for the breakfast, for desserts or for snacks for example.

Brand story

Margot and Gabrielle are first cousin from Arcachon Bay. Their common passion for design led them to create their brand: Pied de Poule.

They revisit traditional French kitchenware and tableware like glasses, tea towels or bowls. Their inspiration comes from their memories of traditional family dinners, vintage fashion and tableware of their grandmother, refined tea times… And they add their own modern and poetic touch.

Their version of the traditional French bowl is a must have for everyone in the family!
