My Paris favorites - May 12, 2024

Bonjour bonjour!

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there in the US and Canada! Wishing you a fantastic day surrounded by your loved ones, filled with love, joy, and well-deserved celebration! In France, Mother's Day falls on the last Sunday of May, giving us still time to get ready for the celebration.

Paris is unusually calm this weekend, and it feels quite special. With Wednesday and Thursday being holidays, followed by many taking Friday off, the city has this serene, almost magical atmosphere. And the weather! It's sunny and warm, like a beautiful weekend in August. J'adore!

 My inspirations of the moment

Photography has become a recent passion of mine, although I still consider myself a newbie with lots to learn. I love wandering through Paris, taking the time to observe scenes and architecture, searching for the perfect angle to capture.

Imagine my dismay when I woke up yesterday and discovered on the news that there had been aurora borealis sightings across France, even in Paris! How could I have missed such a spectacular event?! The photos and videos circulating online are absolutely stunning. I'm sharing some from Normandy, my beloved region: aurora borealis in Normandy. The time lapse in Mont Saint Michel is breathtaking!

Speaking of photography, if you participated in my quick survey back in March, here's a little update. I'm currently collaborating with a printer in Paris to conduct tests and ensure that my photos will be printed perfectly before I start selling them. I'm aiming to have everything ready by September. I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to participate in the survey; your input has been immensely valuable to me. Thank you so much!

❤️ My latest favorites in Paris

The best Paris baguette for 2024 has been crowned, and it comes from boulangerie Utopie, beating out 173 competitors! What an honor - their reward is truly unique: they'll be the official baguette supplier to the President of the French Republic for a whole year.

Currently, there's a wonderful event taking place in front of Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral called 'La Fête du pain' (Bread Festival), running until May 16th. It features various shows, contests, and delightful tastings to enjoy! I'm hoping to find some time to attend this week (for the tastings ;).
